The Weeds. The Rev. Jane Milliken Hague.

The Gospel of Mark describes Jesus going into the wilderness, and after 40 days, he emerges, calling "Repent! The kingdom of God is here." We Episcopalians don't often use the word "repent." And yet the definition of repent is a change of heart, a change of lifestyle, a desire to transform yourself. If we talk about repent, we must also talk about sin. Find out Rev. Jane's personal definition of sin and how Lent can help us come out of our own wilderness.

The Path of Astonishment

"Figure it out" is not one of the 10 Commandments. When we have an encounter with God, we want to figure it out and try to understand it. But even the disciples had these confusing moments. James and Peter couldn't figure it out either when Jesus led them up the mountain and they witnessed his Transfiguration. This Lent, find out how the markers in your life will lead you on a spiritual journey--from doubt to astonishment.

Positive Polarity. Rev. Jane Millken Hague.

The devil made me do it! When Jesus was in the synagogue in Capernaum, a man with an unclean spirit was heckling him. Find out the very real way that we as a church pull each other toward God and away from evil. A homily by the Rev. Jane Milliken Hague.
